We appreciate that not everyone has the space to complete a full routine in their living room however even small changes make a massive difference.
Balance
Balance training enhances body awareness and coordination which are crucial to Cheerleading. Its about the athletes capability of holding body lines, engaging the correct muscles and contributing to the collective balance of a stunt group.
Flexibility
Good flexibility is essential for executing stunts, tumbles, and jumps with good technique and precision, therefore it is important to stretch. Flexibility is crucial to your athletes progression as a Cheerleader.
Core strength
Whether an athlete jumps, kicks or runs, their core muscles provide stability to their spine so that they are less likely to get injured. A strong core, also helps with flexibility and balance.
Technique
Proper technique is essential for performing stunts and tumbles safely and effectively. Execution scores are a huge proportion of the final routine score so it is vital that all athletes perform with excellent technique.
Practice
Practice makes perfect. One element that we cannot teach your athlete is confidence and showmanship. We can teach them the “added extras” but if they are not executed with confidence, they look unconvincing and awkward. Showmanship develops with confidence. It is the athlete being so familiar with a routine that they dont have to think about technique or positioning, that they dont have to count along to the timing. They are so familiar with the routine that they are able to live in the moment, smile, use facial expressions and project their confidence to the judges and audience.
